I use New Wave Mental Maths with 5th and 6th classes. I provides great opportunities to pre teach topics and revise others. The activities become increasingly more difficult as the year progresses. It is great as a revision tool also.

New Wave Mental Maths helps the children to focus and concentrate first thing in the morning! There is continuation and integration of all mathematical procedures throughout the book. The Friday test is useful as it reviews the sums from the week.

New wave mental maths is a fantastic resource for schools. Each day of the week has questions (in the upper end of the school it's 20 questions) which revise every topic on the maths curriculum. The day to day repetition of the concepts helps the children to remember the strategies in order to solve the problems. It is a staple on our booklist and a great resource.

New wave mental maths, I love this series of books, good range of questions for children and they get harder as the year goes on. Children enjoy doing the daily tasks. Great for problem solving! Would be great if you had an interactive aspect to accompany the series of books where children could work in small groups at the board to extend their problem solving ability.

Mental Maths is a superb daily resource used throughout the school. It starts each day for me in the classroom. The children enjoy the daily work, are encouraged by repetition, familiarity of concepts, regularity of all strands of the curriculum. They look forward to their Friday tests. A true reflection of this is evident when the children ask when is it Maths time? without associating Mental Maths with actual maths lessons. It is a huge success. It is also very handy for homework. Excellent workbook with daily practice to reinforce Maths concepts. Pupils encounter a variety of questions to help them revise key concepts. Daily tests are quick and very worthwhile do with a class or learning support group. Children grow in confidence as the weeks progress as similar questions are repeated but also more challenging as the year progresses. We use the programme in all classes from 1st to 6th.

New Wave Mental Maths are used throughout the school. It covers all strands daily and there is repetition of types of questions weekly. A fantastic resource covering the whole maths curriculum. Children really benefit from daily practice of all the strands. Overall, very useful.
