The Oral Language series provides resources and worksheets that develop the core oral language skills of listening, attention, information giving, explanation and questions.

The activities in the Lower book (Infants–1st Class) promote oral language skills placing emphasis on the ability of pupils to listen with understanding and respond orally in a confident and coherent manner. The activities can be used as one-off activities, as a daily practice session, or integrated into complete themes of work.

Teachers can assess the accuracy of – and improvement in – the oral tasks for each pupil by collecting the activity sheets.

    Overall, this book is a nice supplementary text for oral language. It provides good pair activities to enable children to work on their competence and confidence in using language.
