  • Support children to become independent readers

Why choose Reading for Me?

  • It is written in line with the National Literacy Progressions, so teachers and parents can be assured that children’s reading skills are developed as they progress through the series.
  • A dyslexia-friendly font is used throughout the workbooks.
  • It is extremely quick and easy for teachers to implement in their classroom or to assign as homework.
  • Questions consolidate reading and comprehension and allow teachers to check that children actually read and comprehend the texts.
  • It is easy for children to use independently, allowing them to take control of their reading journey, or with a parent’s assistance.

Features

  • Each year level has two workbooks containing 15 weeks of texts each (4 texts per week). Part A is a physical workbook (60 texts) and Part B is available online (additional 60 texts).
  • Children are encouraged to read one text each day at home (Monday to Thursday). This equates to 120 texts per year level.
  • A number of different text types are included to provide variety and interest.
  • Each text has an accompanying worksheet with six questions for children to complete so teachers and parents can monitor reading success.
  • Answers are provided (online) for teachers and parents to check progress, or for children to self-mark.

Great reader and workbook in one! The layout of the book is simple and easy to use. I especially like the different variety of questions included as they allow for critical and imaginative thinking!

I think Reading with Me is a great resource for young readers. I feel that it can be used in a very effective way especially in small group settings through station teaching and through SET withdrawals, but is flexible to all settings. The use of a dyslexia-friendly font is a huge development and shows a huge commitment from Prim-Ed to producing high quality, truly inclusive resources. The online aspect of the programme can also be used at home to ensure a cohesive approach to reading development between home and school. Overall, it is an amazing resource and would highly recommend it for teachers in all levels and settings!

Reading For Me is an ideal resource for those working with children with SEN - particularly those with IEP reading or comprehension goals. The programme has 120 highly interesting and engaging texts accompanied by six comprehension questions printed with Dyslexia friendly font. An all around fabulous resource!

What I really love about Reading for Me is how accessible it is. By using the dyslexia friendly font, it opens doors for children who otherwise would struggle with reading comprehensions. The format of a section a night, paired with the online comprehensions, make it a great tool to have when teaching comprehension in the classroom!
